Merry Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Luke was happy that Santa brought him, and I quote, "So many wonderful surprises!"

In the afternoon we went over to the Dawson's to open more wonderful surprises and to have lunch. The kids were definitely on a sugar overload the entire day, but it was fun.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

24th Day of Christmas

We spent the evening at my parent's house. My mom made a great dinner and had a fun activity planned.
My Mom and the kids had a puppet show of the Nativity story. Abigail and Blake struggled with their puppets a bit. Their puppets are on the right.Luke wanted to see the show too, he kept sticking his head out.
Luke and Ben building his Lincoln Log farm.
Carly enjoying the festivities
Abigail sporting her new apron and chef hat made by Grandma Bars.

Snuggling with Grandma and her new Dora doll. After I tucked her into bed tonight, 20 mins. later I could still hear her saying "Abby's Dora... Abby's Dora..".
I'm off to bed, and I'm excited for tomorrow! I didn't think Christmas could get any better than when I was little, but I think watching my kids and seeing how excited they get is so much better!

The 23rd Day of Christmas

We had a party at the Dawson's tonight. The boys drank all the orange soda they could ever want and watched movies.

Abigail pooped out early, she happily went to bed around 9:30. All of us grown ups got to play games all night without interruption.
This is what Luke looks like 4 1/2 hrs. past his bed time. I don't think he's ever stayed up 'till 11:30 before. After the sugar high wore off, he crashed pretty hard.

The 22nd Day of Christmas

We went to the Smith (Ben's Mom's family) party tonight. We had it at a roller skating rink. The kids had a great time. Abigail really was enjoying the ride, but I guess she's sick of me taking pictures.Grandma Sharla and Carly
This ride didn't work, but Luke thought the dinosaur was pretty awesome just to sit on.

The 21st Day of Christmas

We looked at some Christmas lights. Abby loved it and we had to wake Luke up to see them. I just took a random picture of a house to document on my blog. I hope I will remember next year that doing the days of Christmas was more work than I thought. I hope you all enjoyed Ben's video from last night. Now I know why he'd randomly sing 'do you want some apple pie with that'.

The 20th Day of Christmas

Meg was just about ready to fall asleep when I asked her if she had done her blog post for the day. She hadn't done it and told me to just do it for her. She told me to "just do something stupid". Well Meg, you asked for it....

The 19th Day of Christmas

We had the Carruth (Mom's family) Christmas party tonight. We do the same thing every year, eat crepes and play games, and just like every year it was a good time.
I was trying to get a picture of Abby and Carly with the original Abby and Carly who are also sisters. They would not cooperate.
Here's sweet Carly, being good like always.

The 18th Day of Christmas

And to think she put these on all by herself, what a big girl!

The 17th Day of Christmas

I was so cold all day, when the girls went down for their naps Luke and I sat on the couch with wassil and a blanket.

I was testing Luke's eyesight tonight, by making read things with and without my glasses. I swear that kid is blind as can be. Anyway, Ab wanted to wear them too.

The 16th Day of Christmas

We went to the Christmas village on 25th st. today. It was freezing cold, but the kids had a great time. Abigail was scared of the Santa dolls in the windows at first, but she started to like it when she saw that Luke liked it. The babies were so bundled up, I think Carly got a little warm. She's the blob of blankets sitting in the stroller behind Adam.

The 15th Day of Christmas

We went to the mall to visit Santa Claus today. He wasn't an overly jolly Santa, so I think Luke was a little unsure. Abigial refused to even look at him. Luke told Santa that he wanted a pink elephant. I hope Santa didn't promise him that one, I just don't know where I'd find one.

The 14th Day of Christmas

Jed and Shannon blessed little Beau today, they have the cutest little family!

I thought this picture was funny of Luke, he was totally zoning out.

The 13th Day of Christmas

Ben works most Saturdays so we usually end up going out to my parent's. Today we got there just as my Dad suggested they bust out Uncle Scott and Aunt Becky's Christmas gift.... delicious pancake mix and Bear Lake raspberry syrup.
Abigail and Grandpa Jay waiting in anticipation.

I went and got Luke snow pants and boots, it took me a minute to talk him into wearing regular clothes under his snow gear. Uncle Jed taught him how to make snow balls, so he spent the rest of the afternoon throwing them at the dog.

Luke picked these cookies out at the store, and as usual Ab shoved them in her mouth as quickly as she could.

The 12th Day of Christmas

We'll take a break from Christmas to talk about Abigail... My little girl turned two today!

Favorite things:
Foods- Pie, chicken nuggets, green beans, bananas, & Jello
Toys- Babies, phones, play-doh, & anything Luke's playing with
Phrases- I love you, I don't know, what is it, & no Lukey!
Actvities- Washing dishes, playing with cousins, playing with car seats, reading, getting undressed, teasing Luke, & holding Carly.

We had Grandparents come over for cake and ice cream tonight. She had a great time between the presents, cake, and all the extra attention!

The 11th Day of Christmas

I spent all day Christmas shopping... alone! It was so nice not dragging the kiddos to every store I went to, and I'm sure they had a much better time at Grandma Barb's. I got about 95% of my shopping done, I'm so excited that now I can relax and enjoy the season.

The 10th Day of Christmas

This is what we did today... potty trained Abigail. She's been wanting to use the toilet lately, and I just wasn't ready to do it. This morning she kept asking to sit on the toilet, so finally I took her diaper off and found some panties to wear. She had a few accidents (we ran out of girl underware and we started using Luke's) before she got the hang of it, but by the end of the day she was doing really well.

The 9th Day of Christmas

I underestimated Luke's need to be in the snow. I told him I'll go get him some snow clothes tomorrow so he could play all day, but today he needed to stay inside because it's too cold. Every time I turned around he was sneaking out of the house to play.

The 8th Day of Christmas

We did a gingerbread house for FHE tonight. Luke wanted it to look exactly like the picture on the front of the box. I stuck the gingerbread people on the back of the house instead of the front and he didn't like it too much. Abigail liked to put the candy on the house just to remove and eat it five seconds later. She also liked the bag of icing.

The 7th Day of Christmas

We took family pictures tonight at my parent's house. Obviously since there are no family pictures in this post, you can guess they didn't turn out so well. I hope my Mom got better ones on her camera. I did get a picture of Carly in between crying spells.

surprises

Grandma and Grandpa Dawson watched the kids tonight while we went to Ben's work party. Luke always asks Grandma Sharla for surprises when we go over. Tonight she gave the kids their own little nativity set. The kids loved them, Luke wanted to go to sleep with Mary and Joseph.

movie time

Courtney and I took Abigail, Fisher, and Luke to go see Bolt today. I thought it was a cute show, from the parts that I saw... I realized Abigail isn't quite ready for the movies just yet, all she wanted to do was go to the potty and get more treats.

Gingerbread train

We went to Grandma Barb's house today and decorated a gingerbread train
