Denver

We went to Denver for our annual Chargers game, and it did not dissappoint. We dropped Luke and Hailey off at my parents, and Abigail and Carly off at Ben's parents. Picked up my brothers, and we were off. I always look forward to any Road trips, they're my favorite, no matter where we're going. This one was especially great... no kids, and hanging out with Ben, Brent, and Jed all weekend. A few people have asked why we go to Denver instead of San Diego to watch the Chargers, well, it's because you can get half priced tickets at the Broncos stadium. Also, since the seats are so high up, they're pretty cheap.

My cousin and his wife, Austin and Shawnee, live just outside of Denver, so we stayed with them the first night. It was so great to hang out with them! There was a lot of laughing and eating, what could be better than that?!

We had the same crew as last year, my brothers and us. Next year we're hoping to find 8 people to go, since we have to buy tickets in groups of 4.

The weather was perfect! Which I was so thankful for. I am such a sissy when it comes to the cold.

In front of the stadium

See how high up we were? 5 rows from the top. Luke wanted to know why he didn't see us on tv during the game. Ya, why don't they bring cameras to the top?

We all had to have a picture in front of the field

I feel a little bit safer in cheering for the Chargers while having a Broncos fan in our group.

It was a close game, but the Chargers prevailed... 24 - 29
We stopped in Rock Springs for some Grubs. Ben and Brent have never been before, and everybody needs to go to Grubs once in their life.

Trying to look awesome with a mouthful of burger.

Firestation

Some friends in our ward, invited us to go to the fire station open house for family night. I didn't know this, but the North Ogden Fire station does it every year, with lots of fun stuff to do. Here's a few pictures of our fun night.Climbing all over the trucks

watching the kids climb all over the trucks... probably feeling a little left out.

He was so excited to spray the hose
Abigail, Sammi, Bridger, Luke, and Carly,
waiting in line to look at the helicopters

Riding in the fire truck, with her cute little crush, Bridger, in the background

She was a bit wary at first, but then really got into it

There was also a fire demonstration where they burnt down two little shelters one with fire sprinklers, and one without. I seriously want to get fire sprinklers now. The shelters were specifically built for this purpose, but Abigail thought people really lived in there and she was devastated that someone's house was burnt down.

We are definitely going to go again next year.

Missionary Dinner

A couple of Sundays ago, we thought it might be fun if everybody brought a dish from their mission. It was too bad that Brent, Luke, and Blake weren't there to add food from Cambodia, Russia, and Florida, but we will get them next time.

Didn't really have to do with dinner, but it was a rare moment where she looked calm and innocent :)

Abigail and I making cheese empanadas from Chile, while listening to Dolly. She's the only one in the family that shares my fantastic taste in music.

I was a little proud of myself, they turned out quite delicious, which I guess you could deep fry anything and it would be delicious

Cheering us on, while we make empandadas

We have....
Som Tam and sticky rice from Bangkok, Thailand, Jed's mission
BBQ chicken pizza from San Jose, California, Dad's mission
Hmong stirfry from Minneapolis, Minnesota (Hmong speaking), Matt's mission
cheese empanadas from Santiago Chile, Ben's mission

Everything was SO good, even if a little spicy! Jed said he toned the Som Tam down for us... can't imagine what it's like at full force spiciness!

My Grandma made dessert, which she got the recipe from a lady, while her and my Grandpa were serving in, Hartford, Connecticut.
Luke and Beau with ice cream faces

tickle torture

This picture cracks me up! Abigail is pointing at Adam, while obviously tattling on him, and Adam's just laughing. I love the look on his face!

Oh, and Luke's wearing his favorite outfit (I know, boys don't wear outfits) He likes polo shirts with bb shorts, and he especially likes the solid red.

This was probably our last outside dinner of the year, it's been a great summer!
