4 months

This girl is the sweetest, happiest little thing!
Which is great, because she hasn't always been this good. She is definitely my fussiest baby. My Dr. promised me around 4 mos. she would settle down, and start growing out of the colicky phase. It was around 3 mos that she started to be a little more calm, and now she couldn't be anymore perfect. She sleeps and eats great. She's always center of attention with the kids, and she loves it. I just couldn't love this girl anymore.

Her 4 month stats...
14.11 lbs- 75 %
25 1/4 inches - 90%

cookout

Conference weekend, Luke and Lisa came down to visit. We all got together on Saturday for a cookout. The weather was perfect, and it was so fun catching up with them.

We miss these guys already

Carly's devouring some candy. I never ever would have cut Carly's hair so short, but now that it is, I think she looks adorable... and I never have to do it.

I took a picture of Abby, then she said 'wait!' she ran over to get her drink of orange punch, took a big swig, then told me to take another picture. She was laughing her little head off because I took a picture with her 'punch mustache'. And yes she does have a black eye... it looks a lot better in this picture. She got a small cut beneath her eye, then she hit on the bathtub later. So it was pretty black for a while.

Here's Luke posing with a skateboard, and his new Jazz shirt. Ben took Luke down to S.L. for the Jazz scrimmage on Saturday morning. Luke gets a little carsick sometimes, and well to spare you the details, he got a new shirt.

My birthday girl... with no hair

So yesterday, Friday, was Carly's actual birthday. I was going out of town that night on a quick trip with my Mom and sisters, so we decided to have Carly's b-day party tonight (saturday) instead.

This picture was taken Friday morning, as she's holding up her two fingers, saying 'two'. Notice how beautiful and flowing her golden locks are. (we have big t-shirt night ocassionaly, where the kids go pick one of Ben's old t-shirts to wear to bed)

Well, this is what my sweet girl looked like when I got back Saturday afternoon. Abigail chopped off so much of her hair. She only left one little curl in the back. I almost started crying when I saw her. I don't think I've ever been so mad at my little Abigail before. Pictures never do these things justice. It's so bad.

Okay, I'm done being sad about the hair (for now). We had Grandparents come over tonight for dinner and cake and ice cream. Carly opened her gifts and she loved each present.
She got a new outfit, elephant, minnie mouse jammies, minnie mouse lunch box, an art easel, and a puppy in a carrier (last second gift from us because her minnie mouse backpack that I ordered didn't get here in time)

Her favorite thing in the world right now is Minnie. Luke and Abby carefully directed me as I frosted the cake.

So after the party I decided I needed to even out her hair. I told her we had to cut it and she kept telling me to 'be careful'. I wondered why she kept saying that until we found a couple of scissor cuts on the back of her head. So here she is after her second hair cut of the day.

It's funny, as I was thinking about what to write about Carly... I was thinking of her favorite saying... "Abby did it". She seriously says it all of the time. Oh how right she is. That was the first thing she said to me when I saw her today.

Carly is so sweet, and such a flirt. She loves to snuggle and read books. She loves to play with babies and carry around purses or bags full of random things. Whenever I announce that we're going somewhere, she quickly packs a bag and then she's ready. I love this little girl so much, she is such a joy to have in our family. I'm glad she's such a cutie so that the hair doesn't matter too much (I'm still having a hard time with this... can you tell?)

trouble

My kids have gotten smart... in the morning they used to come into our room and wake us up. Now they sneak out of their beds and quietly get into lots of trouble. Last week I woke up to sprinkles all over the living room floor. Abby denied ever having anything to do with it. Well, I uploaded my pictures to the computer and I found quite a few incriminating videos. Here are just two, the others are not appropriate because Carly had taken off her diaper (a favorite pastime)

first day

Luke went to Kindergarten today. He has been so excited to go. Last night he went school supply shopping with Ben, I gave him a haircut (I know, I just buzzed it, but if you saw Luke getting his haircut, you would know we have to do it the quickest, least traumatizing, easiest way possible), and Ben gave him a father's blessing.
This morning he requested pancakes (which I feel I have to do hot breakfast everyday of the school year, because that's what my Mom did... and still does for my two college age brothers)

The girls were really excited for the walk to the bus stop

boarding the bus

He was so happy to be there, I couldn't feel anything but happy for him

Carly was not okay about Luke leaving on the bus

I drove over to the school to make sure he got off the bus okay, and I found him playing with his buddies. I'm excited for him to get home to tell me about his first day.
