Ben's week

Ben's been pretty busy this week...

Firstly, we're so proud of him for continued attendance to his Anorexia anonymous group.

He got to attend the "history making" inauguration.

He got to see his fav singer in concert, he brought me along... YEA!

Of course at the end of the week you always need a good soak in the tub with your most cherished novel.

NOT! Alright, I'm sure you've guessed that none of this happened and most importantly Ben wouldn't want to take part in any of these things. For Ben's work they pick a person every week that they highlight. This week is Ben's turn, he is supposed to bring pictures of him and his family and talk about his hobbies. So of course I hear him in the computer room cracking up while getting his pictures "ready".... I guess these are his new hobbies.

Sunday Best

We got all the Dawson grandkids together last Sunday to take some pictures
Courtney (Ben's sister) and Ryan's boys with Larry and Sharla. Dawson is 8 1/2 and Fisher is 5.(the camera was still defogging from being left in the car)
Fred (Ben's brother) and Heather's kids. Sadie is 2 1/2, Porter is 9 mos., and Kaitlyn is 5.

Our kids with their Grandma and Grandpa. Carly is 3 mos., Abigail is 2, and Luke is 3 1/2.

All the kids together. Surprisingly most of the kids were very cooperative during this little photo shoot.

Party with the Dawsons

Freddie and Heather have been in town.  We don't get to see them very often, so we spent a good chunk of the week at the Dawson's to be with them.

All eight of the Dawson grandkids.
Abigail, Luke, Porter, Kaitlyn, Sadie, Fisher, Dawson, and Carly

Abigail loved having girls around

Carly and great grandma Ruth

On New Year's Eve, we took all the kids to the treehouse museum.

Later that night, we went back to Larry and Sharla's to hang out. The kids hung out in the heated garage and watched a movie.

Merry Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Luke was happy that Santa brought him, and I quote, "So many wonderful surprises!"

In the afternoon we went over to the Dawson's to open more wonderful surprises and to have lunch. The kids were definitely on a sugar overload the entire day, but it was fun.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

24th Day of Christmas

We spent the evening at my parent's house. My mom made a great dinner and had a fun activity planned.
My Mom and the kids had a puppet show of the Nativity story. Abigail and Blake struggled with their puppets a bit. Their puppets are on the right.Luke wanted to see the show too, he kept sticking his head out.
Luke and Ben building his Lincoln Log farm.
Carly enjoying the festivities
Abigail sporting her new apron and chef hat made by Grandma Bars.

Snuggling with Grandma and her new Dora doll. After I tucked her into bed tonight, 20 mins. later I could still hear her saying "Abby's Dora... Abby's Dora..".
I'm off to bed, and I'm excited for tomorrow! I didn't think Christmas could get any better than when I was little, but I think watching my kids and seeing how excited they get is so much better!
