blueberry pancakes

Last week was so much fun. Jed came into town, so we all got together for game night (I actually won a game... that never happens (well, I tied with Jess)). Then Luke and Lisa came down from Montana. It was so good to see my whole family during the week. By Sunday, everyone had gone back home and it felt a little empty at dinner.
Lisa is the best cook. She always has the best recipes. Saturday morning they made us pancakes.... so delicious! Here's just a few pictures from Saturday.

Most of these pictures are for Jed, I got a lot of Beau. He's the only one that would smile for me, and I knew he would enjoy seeing his cute family.

tonsils are out!

When I first told Luke he was going to the Dr.'s to get his tonsils out he said, "Yay, I like to go to the Dr.'s." He was pretty happy all morning waiting for his surgery, he was even okay when we had to leave him.

When the Dr. came to talk to us, he said it took him a lot longer than he thought, usually it's only 30 min. but it took about an hour. He said the right tonsil was huge, and really scarred in there. Ben made me take the pictures of the tonsils off, so just use your imagination of huge tonsils in his little throat.

He cried when he was coming out of the anesthetic, and he said, "I can't smile very good." He did good as long as I laying next to him, when I would move at all he would say, "no, lay right here." and he patted the pillow.

All he wanted to do was go home. We had to wait a few hours for him to finish his IV. I'm glad they had books, that's all that kept him distracted. Now he's home and after a really long nap, he's doing really good. Now I'm just looking forward to him eating and sleeping better, he didn't even snore during his nap today.

bunk beds

Well a couple months ago we got around to setting up Luke's new bed. I saw these beds at a yard sale as I was driving by, and I picked them up. Ben and Larry got them set up, while Sharla and I went and bought bedding. We weren't going to move Abby in Luke's room until we had the baby, but of course as soon as they were up she claimed her bed.

The only problem with a boy/girl room is trying to make it match while not having it girly or boyish. I thought it turned out pretty good. Now I'm just not sure what to hang on the walls. (the giant black thing on Luke's bed is Marvy, his gorilla)

The kids like putting blankets across the bottom of Luke's bed, hanging out in their fort. I thought after a while after the newness wore off, they wouldn't play on the beds as much, but they're in here a lot. Carly snuck into the picture, pretending to sleep.

rambles

I don't often ramble on my blog... but tonight I thought, what the heck. I like this picture of Carly... she loves to climb up on a barstool and quietly entertain herself. She'll sit up here until I finally decide that it's really not safe, and I should really be a more attentive mother. She always gives me a surprised look, like 'oh, I'm not supposed to be up here?'

I really can't get a serious non-cheesy smile from Luke. If I'm trying to take a picture of anything other than him, he jumps in front with one of these faces. Of course Abigail follows in her brothers footsteps.
People ask me all the time if I have a hard time keeping track of Luke's glasses... They are ALWAYS on his face. He wouldn't take them off if his life depended on it. He used to try to shower with them on, but I finally talked him out of it. Now that he has the power to see, he can't stand to be without them. A while ago he told me, " I want my sisters to have glasses so they can see better too." He's a good brother to Ab and Car.
I'm sure like all of you, we are getting bored of our indoor activities. I can't wait for it to warm up just a bit so we can be outside. These three have really been into books lately. Abby does this bookmobile thing, where she'll pull the basket of books into different areas of the house and say it's reading time. Of course Dallin and Carly just go along with what she says, and they follow her around the house. Abby kinda thinks she's the boss. She'll ask me a question, then she'll quickly say, "say yes" or "say no"
I hear little clicking sounds throughout the day.... Luke loves taking pictures. I usually let him with my camera, but I borrowed Eli's camera, and he really wanted to use that one. So I let him take a picture of me. I thought this picture was funny because I was with my Grandma the other day and she stared at my face for a while, then said, "I didn't know you had freckles, are they new?" I laughed... I've had freckles since the age of three.

I just liked this one of my girl, it was quickly taken in between her pulling funny faces.
