Jay Jenkins reunion 2015

We had our annual family reunion this year just outside of Cedar City.  My Mom planned it down south so Brent and Shelley wouldn't have to drive so far to meet us.  We camped at the Duck Ceek Campground.  When the kids weren't running wild, we explored a cave, went for a hike, did crafts, played games, and ate.

Grandpa watched Abigail build a fairy house.

 Luke chopped us some firewood.

Jess made sun catchers with the kids.

 Grandma and baby Wally

The baby boys made their own little club under a tree.

Shannon made tie-dyed bandanas with the kids.

To get to the ice cave, we had to climb down a little bit.  Hailey refused to come down with us.

So, with no Hailey, and a crying Carly, here's our picture in the ice cave.  Carly had slipped on a huge slab of ice... so we'll excuse her crying for this time.

It was a great weekend.  Something we look forward to all year.

The Fair

We went with some friends to the Weber County Fair.  This was the first time we've ventured to the fair.  The kids loved it... but now they want to raise every animal possible to enter in next year.  I told them we'd have to stick with the arts and crafts section.

Isaac loved the animals, but he'd only pet them if Carly held his hand while he did it.

Carly found a horse with the same name as her and spelled the same way too.

I turn around for a second to find a seat, and next thing I know, Luke's up front holding the snake.

Kent Jenkins Reunion 2015

My Dad's brother, Glen, was in charge of the Kent reunion this year.  We went to a campground up by Midway, UT.  It was a beautiful spot and perfect for the kids to roam by themselves.  Ben wasn't able to come up until the second night, so I was very happy that the 4 oldest kids were able to go do their own thing without me having to watch them the whole time.  Because Ike was a different story.  I pretty much had to hold him or follow him around the whole weekend.  But he's adorable, so it was great.

I've never had an issue camping with kids.  They've always been so good, and great sleepers.  Until the time I tell Ben that I'll be fine without him because he had to work.  Isaac cried and cried the first night.  I wasn't so worried that I was missing my sleep as I was worried about everyone else around us.  We had about 12 tents all crammed into one area.  I couldn't get him to settle down, so at one point I was trying to get out of my tent with him.  The zipper was stuck.  Finally I just grabbed both sides and ripped it open.  The zipper isn't stuck anymore, it's just broken. Then Ike and I stared at the moon for a while.  It was actually a peaceful, beautiful few minutes until I started imagining that all the shadows and sounds was Bigfoot coming to eat us.  My brother's tent was right next to me, so I was all prepared to yell for him, but thank goodness it didn't come to that :)

Sometimes my heart just melts when I see these two.  You would think with almost 9 years between them, that they wouldn't play together.  Luke is so patient and sweet with Ike.  He will do whatever Ike wants him to do.  This time, it was playing pickle ball.

Which really just meant Luke running after the ball and giving it back to Ike to throw of course.

The kids play so good with their second cousins.

Nash, Ike, and Noah.  I love watching these three together.

feeding the ducks at the lake.

Beau and Carly in the trees.

The only way I could get Ike to nap was to take him away from all the excitement and people.  We sat under a tree for a couple of minutes and he was out.

The kids played and game where they got to smash eggs on their heads.  Luke was all over that.

We had a fun time, and we look forward to this reunion every year.
Thanks Glen and Jane, it was great!
