a pet snail

In between rain showers today, we decided to plant some flowers.
Carly sat on the patio having a great time trying to eat grass.

I took Carly's grass away, and she wasn't very happy about it.

We found a big snail while planting the flowers. Luke decided they were going to be great friends. I was a little nervous for the snail since Luke had minutes previously killed some worms. He said they wanted to stretch out... poor things.

He carried him around in a cup for the rest of the day. Tonight when he went to bed, I returned him to the flower bed. Luke asks me over and over, "when are we going to get our puppy?" We might have to settle for a turtle or a hermit crab...

Boys!!!! They just have to have some connnection to the things we don't want to touch or even look at too closely!! Mine love collecting critters in the little dixie cups!! :) We still need to do a park day soon!!!

Your kids are so cute. I'm glad Luke didn't kill the snail. Sometimes I accidentally step on them when I'm running and it freaks me out.
You can totally have my dog. It will make Luke happy.

Great pictures!! I don't think I have ever seen a snail that up close even in real life. You must have a good camera! I am glad Blake got to the MTC okay, to bad you couldn't go, but sounds like it was a great morning!!

Carly isn't a baby anymore that's for sure! I love that Luke loves critters, it's such a little boy thing and with out him even knowing that's what boys do!
