How is summer over? This was the fastest summer of our lives.
We have mixed feeling about school starting this year. The kids were excited to start school to meet some more friends.... but also a little nervous to start a new school. I was excited for school to start so that we could have an end to the chaos that was our summer. Being at my parent's house, this has been a different kind of summer. Still so fun and amazing, but I really have felt the need for order and schedule more so this year than any other.
Luke hasn't been nervous a bit. He loves new adventures and meeting new people. He had a great first day, and I love that he gets home a bit earlier now that he's a 7th grader in Jr. High. We have a few minutes to talk before the girls get home.
Luke and two of his cousins at their bus stop. It's very nice that it's in the front yard!
Hailey was tinniest bit nervous, but she hardly let it show. She had a great first day and was excited that she has two fun girl teachers!! She is going to love second grade.
Abigail was excited that she had a church friend that was going to be in the same class as her, so she wasn't too nervous. She is growing up so fast and acting very mature so that it's hard to believe that she's only in 5th grade.
Carly has a boy teacher this year and wasn't too sure about him and all of his animals. She came home and first day full of news about all the critters in her classroom, and how great her teacher is. She has one of her favorite cousins in her class, and she is in 3rd grade.
The bus stop for the girls is a couple of houses down from ours. Two cousins walk and pick them up, then they all walk together.
When Isaac got home from walking the girls, he threw himself down on the floor and sobbed. He wanted to go with them so badly! It was right then that I knew I was going to have to put him in preschool a year earlier than the other kids did.
